Small figure - Huichol art

Each piece created by a Huichol artisan holds a very special representation of their roots and customs. The artisans draw upon their beliefs about their origins, specifically the four elements of creation: earth, water, air, and fire. The figures are particularly striking, reproducing geometric designs and fantastical shapes. Scorpions, iguanas, turtles, deer, jaguars, wolves, cacti, gourds or cups, and even masks are just some of the forms these deities take in Huichol art.
